How many suns are in the sky? A SPHERE multiplicity survey of exoplanet host stars

چکیده

We are studying the influence of stellar multiplicity on exoplanet systems, in particular systems that have been detected via radial-velocity searches. interested closest companions as they would a strong evolution original planet forming disks. In this study we present new during our ongoing survey hosts with VLT/SPHERE. using extreme adaptive optics imager SPHERE at ESO/VLT to search for faint (sub)stellar companions. utilized classical coronagraphic imaging mode perform snapshot (3-6 min integration time) host stars Ks-band. HD1666, HIP68468, HIP107773, and HD109271. With an angular separation only 0.38" (40 au projected separation) HIP107773 is among found stars. The presence companion explains linear trend seen system. At such small likely had significant disk around primary star. find HD1666 system may well be responsible high orbit eccentricity (0.63) Jupiter class planet, making one few where connection can established. A cross-match Gaia DR2 catalog showed furthermore near infrared HD109271 optical significantly brighter than it white dwarf companion.

Lithium abundances in exoplanet-host stars : modelling

Aims. Exoplanet-host stars (EHS) are known to present superficial chemical abundances different from those of stars without any detected planet (NEHS). EHS are, on the average, overmetallic compared to the Sun. The observations also show that, for cool stars, lithium is more depleted in EHS than in NEHS. The aim of this paper is to obtain constraints on possible models able to explain this diff...

Rotation periods of exoplanet host stars

The stellar rotation periods of 10 exoplanet host stars have been determined using newly analysed Ca II H&K flux records from the Mount Wilson Observatory and Strömgren b, y photometric measurements from Tennessee State University’s automatic photometric telescopes at the Fairborn Observatory. Five of the rotation periods have not previously been reported, with that of HD 130322 very strongly d...

How many λ Bootis stars are binaries ? ?

In the attempt to shed new light on the λ Boo phenomenon we analyzed the astrometric, photometric and spectroscopic characteristics of stars out of a list of recently selected λ Boo candidates. We show that the class is still ill-defined and discuss the possibility that some, if not most stars presently classified as λ Boo, are in fact binary pairs and that peculiar abundances may not correspon...

Lithium depletion and the rotational history of exoplanet host stars

Context. It has been reported that exoplanet host stars are lithium depleted compared to solar-type stars without detected massive planets. Aims. We investigate whether enhanced lithium depletion in exoplanet host stars may result from their rotational history. Methods. We have developed rotational evolution models for slow and fast solar-type rotators from the pre-main sequence (PMS) to the ag...
